Paris 4e – Le Marais

Family pied-à-terre for an Atlanta-based client

This project involved full client-side representation for the creation of a family pied-à-terre located in Le Marais, Paris, commissioned by a client based in Atlanta.

Beyond its residential purpose, the apartment carried a strong family history. It had belonged to the same family since the early 20th century. After the Second World War, the client’s father emigrated to the United States, where the client was born and raised. Decades later, he chose to repurchase the apartment from cousins who had remained in France, ensuring that the property would stay within the family despite the distance.

The project therefore combined technical and emotional dimensions. It required a trusted local representative capable not only of structuring the program and managing the budget framework, but also of handling the project with sensitivity and discretion, given its symbolic value.

My role covered the entire scope of the project: program definition and prioritization, budget structuring, coordination with the interior designer and contractors, and continuous on-site supervision. Particular attention was paid to execution quality and to maintaining continuity between the family’s history, the design intent, and the final result.

The apartment was delivered turnkey, fully completed and ready for immediate use. The process allowed the client to reconnect with a personal and family legacy while relying on a single, trusted point of contact in Paris.
